Fleck’s Story

Meet Fleck. Fleck is a dog who went through our facility and found his fur ever home. You can read her story below!

Fleck, a cute pit mix, was placed on a local shelter’s urgent list at the beginning of 2019 because she had no one to turn to. Jersey Girls Rescue volunteered to adopt her out of desperation for a chance, but they were unable to do so for another three months. As the clock was ticking, Unity For Animals intervened and provided Fleck with sanctuary at the Unity Foster House. Fleck eventually found her forever family in New York after three months of love and care.

Luna’s Story

When Luna’s owner died in August 2018, she was seen devotedly standing at his side. Unity for Animals stepped in to claim her after she was brought to an animal shelter. “It felt like the right thing to do — honor the old owner because he loved this dog so much,” Fabiola explained. Later, Luna was adopted by her late owner’s parents, who were happy to maintain a relationship with their son. ” If I die, I want someone to treat my animals with the same kindness,” Fabiola now says to her husband.

Jack Sparrow’s Story

Jack Sparrow was found in the Frayser neighborhood in a box. We immediately took him to the vet and found out his eye had to be operated. We brought him home and stayed with us for few weeks until we found him a rescue. With the help of a wonderful rescue, Jack Sparrow was able to find a forever home!
